Justice will be served....

So Ontario will be passing legislature to ban pit bulls. The government believes that the dogs are "ticking time bombs". They will be allowing owners to keep their current pit bulls, but are forcing them to wear leashes and muzzles, the dogs not the owners. The owners will also be required to spay or neuter their dogs. And no new dogs will be allowed into the province.
So, my question is this. How many deaths are caused by pit bull attacks each year, in comparison to say cigarette smoke related deaths? I'm sure there are more deaths due to cancer, or even inadvertant fires caused by cigarettes, than there are pit bull attack related deaths.
Why ban pit bulls, but allow people to continue to purchase and smoke cigarettes? Especially since there has been talk recently, of banning cigarette smoking in cars or rooms containing young children. It doesn't make any sense to me.
But then again, I guess pit bulls don't make the government a fortune in taxes every year, and I'm sure there aren't very many pit bull lobbies.

Star Trek....

Oh man, I've been so bored lately. But, I've managed to watch a few episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation on Spike TV. I would love to live in that time period. Imagine having a holo-deck? That would be incredible. The only problem is, I'd probably spend all my time hanging out watching movies and playing video games on the holo-deck. Or, better yet, acting out video games such as Grand Theft Auto. I'd run around with a giant machine gun, blasting old ladies and cops. Stealing cars and driving them off cliffs, or into other cars. It'd be incredible. You could act out the Fight Club scenario, you know, the one where you get to choose anyone, living or dead, and fight them. I think I'd fight Terry Fox. Oh man, I'm kidding, no I'm not, yes I am. I think I'd choose William Shatner. Kicking Captain Kirk's ass. Or getting mine kicked by him, either way, that'd be incredible.
Who would you fight on a holo-deck? What videogames would you play? Or just what would you do?

Movie Reviews....

The Forgotten:

I wish I could forget this film. Yeah, I know, pretty lame, but so was the movie. The trailers made it look great. Some woman losing her mind, memories disappearing, and no one believes her. But the actual film is a pathetic attempt at a twist ending, which is given away before the half way mark. A big disappointment. Don't see it.

The Manchurian Candidate:

I was disappointed with this film. It had some pretty good reviews but it fell short of my expectations. The Manchurian Candidate was slow and pretty boring. It would have had more of an impact if I were american I'm sure. Although the ending was pretty interesting.

Batman: The Mystery of the Batwoman:

This film was incredible. It did justice to the previous Batman episodes and films. A complex action packed story line. The ending was a little predictable, but had a great twist. Five thumbs up.
